Uniforms and Dress Code

Our Philosophy

We at Grace Crossing Academy believe uniforms provide a variety of benefits. In addition to promoting community spirit, uniforms promote safety and discipline on our campus and help students and faculty maintain focus on spirituality and academics.

All children ages three and older at the start of school are required to wear a uniform (solid-colored dark green, dark navy, or white polo shirt and solid-colored blue or khaki shorts, pants, skirts, or jumpers) during the academic school year. Uniforms are not required in the summer. Parents of children who attend on Wednesdays also have the option to purchase a formal uniform. These white plaid uniforms are not required but may be worn for our all-school chapel on Wednesdays. They include plaid shirts for the boys and plaid jumpers or sports with a white blouse for the girls. School t-shirts are permitted on Thursdays and Fridays.

Children under three at the start of school need to wear comfortable clothes suitable for their age group and appropriate for their level of activity. Parents should not dress their children in clothes that they don’t want soiled.

For safety purposes, all children are required to wear closed-toe, closed-heel shoes every day. Slip-ons, mules, cowboy boots, galoshes, and sandals are not appropriate for the students’ active day and are therefore prohibited.

Please consult the Preschool Parent Handbook or Elementary Parent Handbook for our complete uniform policy, including information about holidays and other special days.
